My name is Steve Newton and I am a citizen of this country and I have a letter I think all our elected officials should read very closely. This letter was written by a young wife who has probably stated the condition and the feelings of the country in the best terms I have ever heard.
I really think that you need to read the letter and think about it and then read the rest. It is in your best interest to do so:

I am 25 years old. That is pretty young, in the grand scheme of things. Still, I am an adult--I am married, I am a voter, I am a taxpayer...in short, I am a grown up.
But the recent news stories have reduced me to a cowering five-year-old, wanting to hide in my father's lap. But, I am a grown up now, and there is nobody's lap to hide in.
Watching the news stories, I keep thinking of my history classes. I remember being shocked at some of the things that happened in history, being offended by them, being glad that they were all in the past.
At 10 I thought communism was obsolete, since only China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Cuba were communist. I grew up in a haze of patriotic fervor and faith in the belief that America was the best country in the world and that nowhere else would give you more rights.
Ah, a child's perspective.
This is my plea to fellow friends--I don't know how to deal with these recent rulings. Our country is falling apart at the seams. My husband (who is going to be a pastor) and I have had conversations about what to do when the chips are down--we are talking about martyrdom. In America. Persecution.
I think that's why this recent Obamacare ruling has me so scared. This is why the gay movement / abortion lobby frightens me. These are the issues that are going to crack the church.
Today, it's paying for contraception. Soon, it's performing gay marriages whether you like it or not. How long until you get punished just for teaching that sin is sin? And once that has happened...how long until the central doctrine of Christianity is verboten?
I fear for my husband. I fear for our future children. I fear for the church. There is so much fear, and it is all around me.
This is America, you know? I always thought as a kid these were the fears I'd never have. America's government is now big and scary and menacing...and I am so very, very, small.
I know that God is in control of things, and I remind myself that He will defend His church no matter what, from age to age. But the persecution is coming--it's already here. I don't doubt that God is at my side and that He will be with me...
But the unknown terrifies me so much.
The world is big and scary, and I am small. So small.

If you can read this letter and not feel ashamed of yourselves then you have no heart and, in my opinion, you are not a true American.
As I read this letter for the first time I felt the whole gauntlet of emotions. First I was troubled that a child so young would be afraid in her own country; Then I was sad at the loss of so many of our freedoms; Then as a double veteran I was ashamed that I have allowed this to happen on my watch; Then finally I was very, very angry.
This young lady and her husband are so afraid they are speaking of persecution and martyrdom----in their own country. Think on this a moment---people in our country are worried about dying for their freedom and their Christian religion.
When did the government of these United States become unafraid of the people and the people become afraid of the government? Who allowed you to take God out of our public lives, to allow completely open borders, to allow Islam, to allow the mainstreaming of homosexuality, to teach our kids about deviant sex, to make us pay for something we don’t want, to mortgage our kid’s futures, to allow liberal judges to make law, to spy on us, use government agencies to intimidate us, make us pay more for “global warming” that don’t exist and to allow a President to rule by dictate?
If you said that I allowed it, you would be correct. I and my generation failed to defend our freedoms. That will forever be our shame.
But even though my generation may have failed to safeguard our children’s freedoms—that can be remedied very quickly. These old war dogs still have teeth and we still remember what fighting is all about. If we must stand on the line again you can be sure we will be there to stay. Don’t doubt our love of God and Country.
I believe with all my heart that every generation is given the gift of liberty from their fathers—But I also believe that with this gift comes a duty to defend liberty and freedom and to pass it down to your own children.
And I must remind you all that our liberties come from God not the government. In other words our freedoms, as set out by our founding fathers, are ours already. We have no duty to ask you for them and in fact we have a duty to insist you keep your hands off of them.
Thus the importance of the second amendment, which provides the people of this nation a means to change our form of government if we so choose. (Or to restore it to its Constitutional roots) You have no reason to ask us why we need this weapon or that weapon; it is none of your business. You have no right to tell me when or where I can carry my weapon and you have no right to ask me for a license.
I advocate no violence and I make no threats—however it may very well be the time that the governed reminds the government who is the boss. No child of this nation should be afraid of their own government and I believe I can speak for a few veterans and patriots who feel the same way.
I would ask that you look inside yourselves and then take a long look at what this country is becoming. Then ask yourselves how long do you think real red blooded Americans will stand by and do nothing to stop our slide into socialism if not Marxism? How long do you think we will allow you to ignore laws of the land, embrace all that is evil and call it good and disgrace the sacrifice of those who have died for her?
ISAIAH 5:20
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
And before anyone even brings up race, homophobia, political correctness, etc, let me say, this is about freedom and nothing else. We simply don’t want your kind of change.
But I will say this and you can call me a bigot, but I don’t much care for the “gay” lifestyle and I sure don’t want it around kids. I don’t like open borders, Muslims or their fake “religion,” statists, communists, abortionist, political correctness, people that want us to unilaterally disarm or anyone who hates this country.
As everyone is so fond of saying, elections matter. So what if half the country, as conservatives, stopped buying from liberal supporting businesses? What if we stopped buying from anyone who had a “press one for English” answering service?
You have made a profound mistake about the American people. “Progressives,” or communists, beware. There are still enough of us to stand up to you. You played your hand a little too early. It is time to cut the socialist statist thread that you cling to and expose you for the evil you perpetuate.
I could quote our founding fathers but in the end I suppose it should be simple so you don’t misunderstand. Stop this nonsense and stop it now. If none of you have the gumption to do so then we will. We elected you to represent us and to protect the freedoms given to us by God and fought for by our fathers, but you have taken us down a path of your own choosing and it is not an American path.
Unless God intervenes, in the coming days the fire that has been lit will spread. How far and how hot I don’t know. But you lit that fire; be careful it does not consume you. If you attempt to take any more or our freedoms you will be committing an act of war against the American people. And I would expect and demand that the American military and law enforcement stand with us to uphold their oaths.
In the end I pray that you can restore our freedoms and the rule of law and we can meet together in friendship but if you are set on tyranny and dragging us into the abyss of Marxism and slavery then I will see you on the field. (Next sentence redacted by request of the Secret Service)*
This is a warning from at least a few of the American people. The line has been drawn and we will accept no more.
